Pune Techie Confesses to Son's Murder Amid Marital Suspicions

A second group of 116 Indians was deported from the United States and landed in Amritsar, India, recently. This deportation follows a recent flight that brought back 104 Indians on February 5, amidst ongoing strict immigration policies by the U.S. government.
Many deportees detailed their perilous journeys, which involved high financial costs, risky travel through jungles and seas, and ultimately, being caught shortly after entering the U.S. One deportee, Sourav from Ferozepur, recounted spending approximately ₹4.5 million (around $54,000) to reach the U.S. but found himself apprehended within hours. Others, like Gurbachan Singh, faced dire circumstances, navigating through treacherous routes that left them exhausted and traumatized.
Families of the deportees expressed distress over the financial burden incurred, often having sold land or taken loans to finance the dangerous migrations. The Punjab government has been urged by families to assist the repatriated individuals with job placements as many return without prospects. The third deportation flight, expected to arrive shortly, will bring 157 more Indians back to India.
