Florida Teacher Charged with Raping Student Over Months

Amy Murray, a nurse at a Missouri prison, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her husband, Joshua Murray. According to court documents, she poisoned him with antifreeze before setting their home on fire in December 2018. Initially believed to have died in the fire, an autopsy revealed Joshua had been poisoned. The State Fire Marshal's Office discovered that an accelerant was used in the fire, indicating foul play, reports People.
Murray was arrested in February 2019, three months after her husband's death. Investigators found evidence of her frequent communication with Eugene Claypool, an inmate serving a 25-year sentence for murder. Court records indicated that Murray wished to marry Claypool and expressed her intention to do so after her husband's demise.
Murray posted a $750,000 bail shortly after her arrest but was ultimately unsuccessful in her legal battles, culminating in her plea agreement. Her sentences for arson and tampering with evidence will run concurrently with the murder sentence.
