Pune Techie Confesses to Son's Murder Amid Marital Suspicions

India is set to enhance its healthcare response capabilities with an agreement valued at over $1 billion for the supply of 788 Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) air ambulances. According to reports, the IIT-Madras founded startup ePlane Company will provide these ambulances to ICATT, India's leading air ambulance firm, which will deploy them across every district in the country.
The initiative aims to address growing transportation challenges in urban areas, particularly for medical emergencies. eVTOLs are designed to ensure minimal environmental impact while navigating congested roadways. The air ambulances will accommodate a pilot, a paramedic, a patient, and necessary medical equipment, with a top speed of 200 km/h and a range of 110 to 200 kilometers per battery charge.
ePlane Company’s founder, Satya Chakravarthy, revealed plans to begin operations by late 2026, with an annual production capacity of 100 units. He is also seeking an additional $100 million for further development and certification of various eVTOL prototypes. With this move, India joins a select group of nations looking to innovate in air transport and emergency services.
