Decorated Veteran Forced to Self-Deport After 48 Years in the U.S.

A 7-Eleven employee in Los Angeles died on Wednesday, eight days after an alleged assault by her manager, prompting a homicide investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. Jessica McLaughlin, in her twenties, was critically injured during a confrontation at the convenience store on June 24, according to her family.
Witnesses indicated that the altercation began after the assistant manager threw a bottle at McLaughlin during her shift, leading to a physical struggle. Sean McLaughlin, Jessica's brother, reported that the manager pinned her to the ground, restricting her ability to breathe, and attempted to erase security footage before fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Despite attempts at CPR by coworkers, Jessica was declared "clinically dead" due to irreversible brain damage caused by oxygen deprivation.
The company has terminated the suspect's employment and is cooperating with law enforcement for her arrest. The family has initiated a GoFundMe to assist with burial expenses as they mourn the loss of Jessica, whom they claimed faced workplace bullying.
