Russia and Ukraine Exchange Drone Strikes Amid Ceasefire Discussions

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has asserted that Russia may soon wage war against NATO should U.S. support for Ukraine diminish. In an interview on NBC's Meet the Press, Zelenskyy stated he has seen intelligence indicating that Russian President Vladimir Putin is amassing troops in Belarus, potentially preparing for an offensive against European nations such as Poland and Lithuania, which have historical ties to past occupations by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
Zelenskyy expressed concern that weakening NATO could embolden Putin, stating, "What is he waiting for? For a weakening of NATO by, for instance, policy of the US." He emphasized Ukraine's necessity in any peace negotiations, asserting that no agreement involving Ukraine can be made without its participation. Regarding recent U.S. political developments, he voiced disappointment in remarks made by figures such as Vice-President JD Vance, suggesting they undermine unity among European leaders.
His comments come amid ongoing discussions among European leaders about coordinating efforts against Russian threats, as they stress that lasting peace in Ukraine requires their involvement alongside U.S. support.
