Concerns Rise Over Disinformation Campaigns in German Election

At the Munich Security Conference on February 15, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asserted that any peace talks concerning the ongoing conflict with Russia must include Ukraine and Europe. He emphasized, "No decisions about Ukraine without Ukraine, no decisions about Europe without Europe," as tensions rise following U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a forthcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Zelensky urged the U.S. to formulate a "common plan" to confront Russia, stressing that a ceasefire cannot be established without robust security guarantees, including sanctions on Russia and support for Ukraine's military. He expressed a willingness to explore proposals for deploying European peacekeeping troops but noted that details still require discussion with European leaders.
Highlighting the urgent need for Europe to unify in light of the Russian threat, Zelensky called for the establishment of a European army to ensure that the continent can act decisively. He concluded by insisting that together, real pressure must be applied to forge a peaceful resolution to the conflict, which he characterized as necessary for maintaining power in Russia.
