Putin Claims Control Over Ukrainian Forces in Kursk as Tensions Escalate

Yulia Navalnaya, widow of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has accused President Vladimir Putin of hiding the truth surrounding her husband’s death, which occurred on February 16, 2024, in an Arctic penal colony. According to Al Jazeera, Navalny's death was officially attributed to natural causes, yet supporters are gathering to commemorate his first anniversary by visiting his grave in Moscow.
In a video message shared with supporters, Navalnaya expressed gratitude to those who honor Navalny’s memory, asserting that they must continue to fight against the regime. "Even now, a year after his death, [the authorities are] trying to erase Alexei’s name from our memory," she declared, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for truth and justice.
The European Union also marked the anniversary with a statement holding Putin and the Russian government responsible for Navalny's death. The EU called for the immediate release of Navalny’s lawyers and other political prisoners, condemning the ongoing repression of dissent in Russia as the nation continues its military aggression against Ukraine.
