Concerns Rise Over Disinformation Campaigns in German Election

At the Munich Security Conference, US Vice President JD Vance emphasized the United States' commitment to achieving a "durable peace" in Ukraine during a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Following their discussions, both leaders described their conversation as "good" and expressed intentions for future talks.
Vance indicated that the US aims to end the ongoing conflict and prevent future conflicts in Eastern Europe, stating, "We want the war to come to a close, we want the killing to stop, but we want to achieve a durable, lasting peace." He highlighted the necessity of ongoing discussions to appropriately conclude the war.
The US delegation included Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Keith Kellogg, a special envoy on Ukraine appointed by former President Donald Trump, who recently stirred controversy by initiating communications with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the conflict.
Vance refrained from disclosing further specifics, stating he wished to maintain flexibility for negotiators on both sides as they pursue a resolution to the war.
