Ukraine Unleashes Fiery Drones to Eliminate Damaged Russian Tanks

A Ukrainian drone unit claims to have destroyed three Russian air defense systems in a single day, according to a post by the Ronin company of the 65th Mechanized Rifle Brigade. The unit reported successful attacks on a Tor-M2, a Buk-M2, and a Buk-M3, all considered advanced mobile surface-to-air missile systems. The footage shared by the brigade shows drones closing in on the targets before transmission cuts out, suggesting successful hits, although independent verification is not available.
The Tor-M2, praised by Russian state media as a "cutting-edge" weapon capable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously, is estimated to cost about $27 million per unit. The Buk-M3 is similarly advanced, with costs ranging between $40 million and $50 million. Interestingly, the drones used for the strikes were funded through civilian donations, as indicated by the unit, which acknowledged support from crowdfunding activist Serhii Sternenko. This development underscores the increasing reliance on affordable drone technology for countering high-value military targets in the ongoing conflict.
