Russian Missile Strike in Sumy Kills 20 on Palm Sunday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Thursday that Ukraine would refuse to accept any peace agreement made between the United States and Russia that does not include Kyiv in the discussions. Speaking at a nuclear plant ahead of the Munich Security Conference, Zelenskiy stressed the importance of Europe being included in negotiations aimed at ending the ongoing war in Ukraine.
His comments come in the wake of a conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the start of peace negotiations. Renewed concerns have arisen in Europe, especially after remarks from Trump’s defense secretary indicated that Kyiv's NATO membership may not be feasible and a return to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders might be unrealistic.
Zelenskiy emphasized that Ukraine must have a say in any agreements that affect its sovereignty. He expressed the urgency for the U.S. and Ukraine to formulate a cohesive plan before engaging with the Russian side, stating, "We, as an independent country, simply will not be able to accept any agreements without us."
