Tragic Manhunt Underway for Father Linked to Daughters' Deaths in Washington

A 34-year-old man, Maxwell Anderson, has been found guilty of murdering and dismembering Sade Carleena Robinson, a 19-year-old college student, following their first date in April 2024. After the two went to dinner and a bar in Milwaukee, Robinson was reported missing when she failed to show up for work the next day. According to the New York Post, police later discovered body parts scattered around the city and on the shores of Lake Michigan. During the trial, the prosecution presented graphic evidence from Anderson's phone, which included disturbing images of Robinson's remains. Juror Melissa Blascoe described the evidence as "damning" and emotionally overwhelming. The crime’s chilling details were exacerbated by the fact that Anderson watched a Netflix series, "Love, Death & Robots," which features a storyline involving dismemberment, prior to the murder. Anderson was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse, and arson, as he had set Robinson's car on fire after the crime. He now faces a mandatory life sentence, although the judge may impose additional supervision.

Researchers have unveiled the largest map of the universe ever created, encompassing nearly 800,000 galaxies and stretching back to the infant years of the cosmos, approximately 13 billion years ago. According to the Cosmic Evolution Survey collaboration, the map, released on Thursday, covers a 0.54-degree-squared area of the sky, roughly three times the apparent size of the moon as viewed from Earth. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) dedicated 255 hours to observe the COSMOS field—an area with minimal interference from stars or gas clouds. This allowed scientists to survey the universe across multiple wavelengths of light. "Since the telescope turned on, we've been pondering whether JWST datasets might disrupt the cosmological model," stated Caitlin Casey, a co-leader of the COSMOS project from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She emphasized that JWST has revealed about ten times more galaxies than anticipated at such vast distances. The COSMOS-Web map is now accessible to amateur astronomers and the public, promoting wider engagement with these groundbreaking discoveries.
