Man Convicted of Dismembering College Student After First Date

An intense manhunt is underway for Travis Decker, 32, whose three daughters were found dead in Chelan County, Washington. The girls, aged 5 to 9, were discovered on June 5, 2025, after being reported missing by their mother, Whitney Decker, on May 30. According to police, Whitney had recently dropped the girls off for a scheduled custody visit with Decker and became concerned when they did not return as expected.
The discovery of the girls’ bodies, reportedly suffocated and tied up, has shocked the community. Authorities believe Decker may be hiding in local wilderness due to his extensive survival skills, as highlighted by the Chelan County Sheriff’s office. Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has mobilized National Guard resources to aid in the search, advising residents to remain cautious and secure their homes.
Travis Decker, a former U.S. Army service member, is wanted for three counts each of murder and kidnapping. The ongoing crisis has raised discussions about mental health support for veterans, which may have contributed to the tragedy, as noted by advocacy groups.
