Tragic Manhunt Underway for Father Linked to Daughters' Deaths in Washington

USUnited States|

An intense manhunt is underway for Travis Decker, 32, whose three daughters were found dead in Chelan County, Washington. The girls, aged 5 to 9, were discovered on June 5, 2025, after being reported missing by their mother, Whitney Decker, on May 30. According to police, Whitney had recently dropped the girls off for a scheduled custody visit with Decker and became concerned when they did not return as expected.

The discovery of the girls’ bodies, reportedly suffocated and tied up, has shocked the community. Authorities believe Decker may be hiding in local wilderness due to his extensive survival skills, as highlighted by the Chelan County Sheriff’s office. Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has mobilized National Guard resources to aid in the search, advising residents to remain cautious and secure their homes.

Travis Decker, a former U.S. Army service member, is wanted for three counts each of murder and kidnapping. The ongoing crisis has raised discussions about mental health support for veterans, which may have contributed to the tragedy, as noted by advocacy groups.

Man Convicted of Dismembering College Student After First Date

A 34-year-old man, Maxwell Anderson, has been found guilty of murdering and dismembering Sade Carleena Robinson, a 19-year-old college student, following their first date in April 2024. After the two went to dinner and a bar in Milwaukee, Robinson was reported missing when she failed to show up for work the next day. According to the New York Post, police later discovered body parts scattered around the city and on the shores of Lake Michigan. During the trial, the prosecution presented graphic evidence from Anderson's phone, which included disturbing images of Robinson's remains. Juror Melissa Blascoe described the evidence as "damning" and emotionally overwhelming. The crime’s chilling details were exacerbated by the fact that Anderson watched a Netflix series, "Love, Death & Robots," which features a storyline involving dismemberment, prior to the murder. Anderson was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, hiding a corpse, and arson, as he had set Robinson's car on fire after the crime. He now faces a mandatory life sentence, although the judge may impose additional supervision.

Scientists Unveil Largest Map of the Universe Using James Webb Space Telescope

Researchers have unveiled the largest map of the universe ever created, encompassing nearly 800,000 galaxies and stretching back to the infant years of the cosmos, approximately 13 billion years ago. According to the Cosmic Evolution Survey collaboration, the map, released on Thursday, covers a 0.54-degree-squared area of the sky, roughly three times the apparent size of the moon as viewed from Earth. The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) dedicated 255 hours to observe the COSMOS field—an area with minimal interference from stars or gas clouds. This allowed scientists to survey the universe across multiple wavelengths of light. "Since the telescope turned on, we've been pondering whether JWST datasets might disrupt the cosmological model," stated Caitlin Casey, a co-leader of the COSMOS project from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She emphasized that JWST has revealed about ten times more galaxies than anticipated at such vast distances. The COSMOS-Web map is now accessible to amateur astronomers and the public, promoting wider engagement with these groundbreaking discoveries.

Musk-Trump Feud Triggers Major Loss for Tesla and TrumpCoin

A recent online spat between Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and former President Donald Trump has resulted in a stunning $152 billion loss in Tesla's market capitalization, alongside a decline of over $100 million in value for TrumpCoin. On Thursday, Musk criticized Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill," which includes immigration restrictions and cuts to green energy subsidies, sparking a fiery exchange on social media platforms X and Truth Social. According to reports, Tesla’s stock experienced a 14% drop, marking its most significant one-day decline in years. Trump retaliated by suggesting Musk opposed the bill to protect electric vehicle tax credits beneficial to Tesla. High-profile allies like Steve Bannon have urged Trump to terminate Musk’s government contracts, while Musk has threatened to decommission SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. This feud comes at a critical time for Tesla, as it prepares to launch its long-anticipated robotaxi service in Austin, Texas. Musk's claims of Tesla not needing federal tax credits have been met with skepticism, and public protests against both Musk and Trump have intensified as a grassroots initiative gains momentum.
