Tragic Couple's Suicides Linked to Domestic Dispute

A tragic series of events unfolded recently when a man from Ghaziabad took his own life, leading his wife to also end her life upon hearing the news. The couple, identified as 32-year-old Vijay Pratap Chauhan and his 28-year-old wife Shivani, lived in the Loni Border area of Ghaziabad and were parents to a one-year-old girl.

The incidents began on Friday evening when the couple had a heated argument. Shivani left their home after the dispute and traveled to northeast Delhi. During a subsequent phone call, Vijay allegedly told her that she would never see him again. Shortly after, his aunt found him hanging inside their home.

Upon learning of her husband's death from Vijay's aunt, Shivani tragically took her own life by hanging from an electric pole near the Loni roundabout, about eight kilometers from their residence. Both Ghaziabad Police and Delhi Police are conducting simultaneous investigations into the circumstances surrounding their deaths. No suicide notes were found at either location, and preliminary examinations revealed no external injuries beyond those consistent with hanging.

The couple had a reported history of marital discord, and their deaths have raised serious concerns about mental health and domestic issues.
