Teen Dies by Suicide After Family Sells His Motorcycle in Meerut
A 17-year-old boy in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, tragically died by suicide on January 11 after his family sold his Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle in an effort to curtail his outings with friends. The incident occurred when the boy's elder brother was away picking up their mother from a local medical college. Upon hearing a loud noise, the family forced their way into the locked room to find the teenager unconscious with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Before taking his own life, the boy reportedly searched online for "What happens to a person after death?" The police have recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol and are investigating how he obtained the weapon. The boy's family has not filed any complaints regarding the incident. With his father having passed away last year, his mother, a nurse, and elder brother expressed concerns over his focus on studies, believing the sale of the motorcycle would motivate him. Unfortunately, this decision led to the young man's despair and ultimate tragedy.
