Canadian Woman Loses Both Hands in Shark Attack While Snorkeling in Turks and Caicos

Last month, a SpaceX Starship test flight ended in disaster when the spacecraft exploded over the Caribbean, scattering debris across the British island territory of Turks and Caicos. Residents have since been tasked with cleaning up fallen spacecraft fragments, which included wires and tiles, near their homes and on local beaches, as reported by Futurism.
Local business owner Amos Lucker expressed frustration, stating, “I think [Elon Musk] should be liable for the cleanup, too,” emphasizing the unexpected burden placed on the islanders. SpaceX had previously advised residents to report any debris rather than touching it due to potential hazards. Nevertheless, one local resident, Kaine, reported that it took a week for SpaceX to respond to her cleanup efforts, during which she has accumulated over 90 kg of debris in her garage.
While the Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that the island was within a designated hazard area prior to the launch, they emphasized that no potential casualties were exceeded. With residents averaging an income of less than $30,000 annually, the incident has raised concerns about SpaceX's communication and accountability regarding its activities, as noted by various local news sources.
