Shocking Murder Case in Delhi: Man Kills Wife and Plans Further Crime
A grave incident has emerged from southwest Delhi, where a 29-year-old man, identified as Dhanraj, is accused of murdering his wife, Deepika Chauhan, and attempting to conceal the crime. On January 5, 2025, police uncovered Deepika's body hidden inside a box bed in their home in Janakpuri. Investigators revealed that Dhanraj killed Deepika on December 29, 2024, and wrapped her mouth in white tape to delay decomposition.
Dhanraj, an alcoholic working as a motorcycle rider, allegedly executed the crime due to financial disputes, as Deepika was the main breadwinner. Following the murder, he was on the run, having fled to Amritsar. However, he returned to Delhi with intentions of murdering a friend of Deepika's whom he suspected of infidelity. Dhanraj was apprehended before he could carry out this further act of violence, thanks to an electronic payment trace. Police have taken him into custody, and he does not have a prior criminal record.
Authorities continue to investigate the case, highlighting the concerning issues surrounding domestic violence and mental health in the community.
