Psychologist Arrested in Nagpur for 15 Years of Sexual Exploitation of Students
A 45-year-old psychologist was arrested in Nagpur for allegedly sexually exploiting and blackmailing at least 50 students, primarily targeting young girls over the past 15 years. The accused operated a clinic and residential program in east Nagpur and is facing serious charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act.
According to police officials, the psychologist lured students with promises of personal and professional development and arranged trips and camps where he reportedly abused them. He also photographed his victims in compromising situations to use as leverage for blackmail.
The disturbing case came to light when a former student, who was being blackmailed, sought police assistance. Authorities are concerned that some victims may be reluctant to come forward due to their current marital status. A special committee has been established to support victims and facilitate a comprehensive investigation.
