Israel Strikes Iranian State TV During Live Broadcast Amid Escalating Conflict

A pro-Israel hacker group known as Gonjeshke Darande, or "Predatory Sparrow," has claimed responsibility for a significant cyberattack on Nobitex, Iran’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, resulting in the theft of over $90 million and the exposure of sensitive internal data. The attack was announced on June 19, 2025, just one day after the group threatened to leak the exchange's source code unless their demands were met.
According to blockchain analysis firms, the hacked funds were shifted to wallets with messages critical of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, indicating a politically motivated act rather than a purely financial one. Industry experts noted that the stolen data includes blockchain scripts and privacy settings, which severely compromise Nobitex's cybersecurity.
Nobitex has acknowledged the incident on social media, stating that it is investigating "unauthorized access" to its systems. The attack comes amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, particularly following Israeli military actions targeting Iranian facilities. While Israeli media has suggested possible governmental ties to the hackers, no formal confirmation has been issued.
