Two Dead in Tragic Shooting Involving Police Officer's Son

A tragic accident involving a Hillsborough County Fire Rescue ambulance resulted in the death of a patient on Friday night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the ambulance was traveling eastbound on McGee Road in Plant City around 11:35 p.m. when it collided with a northbound semi-truck at the intersection with SR-39.
The 64-year-old female patient, who was en route to the hospital, succumbed to her injuries after being treated for the crash. The ambulance crew, consisting of a 26-year-old driver and a 47-year-old crewmember, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation.
FHP officials stated that the ambulance failed to yield at the intersection, which led to the semi-truck jackknifing and the ambulance flipping. No additional details regarding the accident have been released as the investigation continues.
