Munich Doctor Accused of Assaulting Patients During Procedures
A gastroenterologist, Dr. Wolfgang H., is facing serious allegations of sexual assault after reportedly violating 19 female patients during colonoscopy procedures between 2017 and 2021 at his Munich practice. The accusations, brought forth by the public prosecutor's office, state that the patients were under anesthesia and unaware of the incidents at the time.
The disturbing claims were exposed by medical assistants working at the practice. According to testimonies, Dr. H. allegedly inserted his finger into the vaginal area of patients while performing the procedures, described as "rape in conjunction with sexual abuse." The patients affected were reported to be young women aged 20 to 40.
Dr. H., who concealed his face behind a folder during the court proceedings, has denied all accusations. His attorney, Julia Weinmann, suggested that the allegations stem from disputes within the medical practice aimed at ousting her client. However, testimonies from former staff, including Liesa S., directly contradict this defense. She reported that the assault incidents occurred repeatedly during the procedures.
The court is expected to make a ruling on the case by January 31.
