Record Temperatures Slam UAE Amid Concerns Over Climate Change

A significant fire broke out late Friday night at the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle building in Dubai, leading to the evacuation of all 3,820 residents from its 764 apartments, according to the Dubai Media Office (DMO). The fire was extinguished after a six-hour operation by the Dubai Civil Defence teams.
Emergency services acted promptly, prioritizing the health and safety of residents during the evacuation, which was completed without any reported injuries, as noted by the Khaleej Times. Ambulances and medical personnel were on-site to provide necessary medical and psychological support to those affected.
This incident marks the second major fire at Marina Pinnacle, also known as Tiger Tower; a previous fire occurred in May 2015 due to a kitchen mishap on the 47th floor. The DMO confirmed that they are collaborating with the building's developer to arrange temporary housing for the evacuated residents. In a statement, a resident praised the efficiency of the UAE's emergency response efforts.
