Eleven-Year-Old Girl With Disabilities Raped in Uttar Pradesh

A group of 104 illegal immigrants was deported from the United States on February 5, 2025, landing in Amritsar, India, aboard a U.S. military C-17 aircraft. The deportees recounted their distressing experiences involving fake agents, financial losses, and life-threatening conditions on their journeys. According to Jaspal Singh, a deportee from Gurdaspur, hands and feet were shackled throughout the flight, only to be unshackled upon arrival at the airport.
Singh described crossing 17-18 hills and facing perilous situations, including witnessing injuries and deaths among fellow travelers. Many had to walk 40-45 kilometers and endure a 15-hour boat ride. Singh's ordeal started with a deceitful travel agent who promised a legal route for a fee of 3 million Indian rupees (approximately $36,000).
The deportees, mostly from states such as Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat, were taken home in police vehicles after questioning by authorities for any criminal connections. The deportation occurred ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Washington.
