German Doctor Charged with Murdering 15 Patients

A significant cyberattack reportedly originating from Russia has temporarily incapacitated the website of the Bremen police and other government services in the region. The attack, characterized as a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) assault, began at approximately 7:15 AM on Wednesday, overwhelming the servers with up to 18,000 requests per minute, according to a spokesperson for Finance Senator Björn Fecker.
This incident caused extensive disruptions to the state's online services, rendering multiple government websites inaccessible. However, the Bremen finance ministry’s cyber defense team managed to mitigate most of the incoming traffic, and the affected services were restored by late morning.
The Central Cybersecurity Authority for the Bremen state confirmed that a Russian hacker group claimed responsibility for the attack. As investigations are ongoing, officials assured that no data was compromised during the incident.
The rise in cyberattacks, particularly from Russian entities, has raised concerns about the security of state digital infrastructures in Germany, prompting calls for enhanced protection measures.
