Two Scots Killed in Shooting Outside Irish Pub in Spain

Spanish authorities have launched an investigation after multiple corpses were discovered in the Mediterranean Sea, reportedly with their hands and feet bound. According to police, at least five bodies have been spotted by Civil Guard boats since mid-May, leading investigators to suspect the victims are migrants from North Africa. Local media outlet Diario de Mallorca reported that the deceased may have been tied up and discarded during a boat crossing, potentially due to conflicts with their smugglers.
The Civil Guard's spokeswoman stated that the investigation aims to identify the victims and determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Regional president Marga Prohens emphasized that this discovery highlights "the cruelest side" of the irregular migration route. While many migrants travel to Spain via the Canary Islands, some still attempt the shorter journey from North Africa to the Balearic Islands.
Reports indicate that between January and June 2025, a total of 31 bodies have been located in the region, underscoring the dangers faced by migrants, especially in light of the International Organization for Migration's data, which recorded over 8,500 migrant deaths globally in 2023.
