Bihar Police Uncover Unique Pregnancy Scam, Three Arrested
In a bizarre case, Bihar police have arrested three individuals accused of operating a scam that promised financial rewards for making women pregnant. This operation, dubbed the "All India Pregnant Job Service," was reported from Kahuara village in Nawada district. According to police, the gang lured victims with offers of up to Rs 10 lakh (approximately $12,000) for childless women, and even offered Rs 50,000 to Rs 5 lakh as compensation for unsuccessful attempts.
The arrested individuals, identified as Prince Raj, Bhola Kumar, and Rahul Kumar, were said to have advertised their services on social media platforms like Facebook. They reportedly collected personal information from potential clients, including PAN and Aadhaar cards, as part of a registration process before soliciting payments. Deputy Superintendent of Police Imran Pervez confirmed that six mobile phones were seized from the suspects, containing evidence of fraudulent transactions and customer communications.
This investigation highlights the increasing prevalence of cyber scams targeting vulnerable individuals, prompting police to issue warnings against such deceptive schemes.
