Rodrigo Duterte Appears via Video Link at ICC in War on Drugs Case

Ralph Manecke, a 56-year-old American tourist from Boston, was shot dead during an attempted robbery in Trento, Philippines, on Wednesday night. According to reports from local authorities, Manecke was withdrawing approximately $800 from an ATM when an armed suspect confronted him and his partner, Jerald Ceasar Tornea.
Tornea described the ordeal, stating that the suspect, who was wearing a helmet and a mask, exited an SUV and initially greeted them before brandishing a gun. "I was taken aback when I saw he was pointing a gun at us," she recalled. The robber first snatched a bag containing cash from Tornea before shooting Manecke in the stomach. Tornea held Manecke's lifeless body until police arrived; he was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, which echoes a previous kidnapping case on the same island involving a missing YouTuber. The tragic event has drawn attention to the safety of tourists in the area.
