Proposed Anti-Gay Law in Kenya Could Cost $7.8 Billion Annually, Report Warns

A dramatic incident unfolded at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport when Nigerian passenger Gloria Omisore was denied boarding by Kenya Airways for lacking a required French visa for her layover. According to the New York Post, Omisore reacted by throwing used sanitary pads at ground staff, escalating tensions during a heated argument.
The chaos began when airline personnel offered an alternative flight to London, which Omisore rejected, demanding compensation instead. In a video of the altercation, she insisted on receiving a sanitary towel while loudly asserting her rights, claiming she would escalate her grievance to high-level officials in Nigeria.
Kenya Airways later issued a statement condemning Omisore's behavior, reiterating that accommodation costs are not covered in cases of visa-related denials. The airline emphasized the necessity for passengers to have proper documentation. Following discussions between aviation authorities from Nigeria and Kenya, it was agreed that Omisore would be deported back to Nigeria the same day, as confirmed by spokesperson Michael Achimugu.
